Global Sustainability: Think Out of the Box
Sustainability of our planet is a global challenge which can be overcome by breaking down the geographical barriers of isolation and act together collectively, responsibly. Corbin Harney, a noted environmentalist summarizes it very well “We the people, are going to have to put our thoughts together, our power together, to save our planet here. We’ve only got one Water, one Air, one Mother Earth.”
The 3D sculpture is drawing the attention of the viewer with the larger rocks in the middle symbolic of our natural resources – Water, Air and Land. The thick wires chaining the rocks confining them to the box are the demands on these resources. The human race has gotten increasingly demanding, tipping the balance from sustainability to exploitation, leading to irreversible damage.
The need of the hour is out of box thinking, depicted with hand-made paper designs – light weight, hanging with thin wires attached to the same set of natural resources. The call is for a shift in thinking, a shift representative of restoring the balance in sustainability and simplifying living. Let’s think Global Sustainability – break free from the shackles of big rocks, and think out of the box harmonizing with a life not of sacrifice, but rather simplicity, seeking pleasure in simplifying living.
